Recent report published by a wing of the Union HRD Ministry, enrolment of foreign students in Indian Universities went up from 13,267 in 2004-05 to 14,456 in 2005-06. Contribution from the Asian countries is 10, 493.
 
IGNOU and Pune Universities which rank 1st and 2 nd in India in terms of number of foreign students enrolment participated several educational fairs in abroad (including our India Education Exhibitions 06, 07 & 08 thro' affiliated institutions)

Good number of working group (men and women) is strengthening their educational qualification by opting for distance education programmes (Degree / Certificate / IT) offered by Indian Universities and institutes.

In U.A.E and Kuwait there are nearly 85 Indian Schools following Indian syllabi, with nearly 45,000 students at higher secondary level, affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education or to Boards of Indian States. Nearly 70 % of the NRI students avail the NRI quota in Indian Institutions.
